From a "Swiss Branch" to Cattaneo Impianti SA
In 2008, Italian parent company Cattaneo Impianti S.r.l., present for over 65 years in the Como area, was invited by a well-known pharmaceutical industry in the Lugano area to intervene on the breakdown of a freeze dryer; soon after this first contact with the Ticino region, Cattaneo Impianti decided to open a branch in Chiasso to assess the possibility of operating on Swiss territory in the same sectors in which the company already operated. Initially the company was called “Cattaneo Impianti S.r.l. Branch of Chiasso -Swiss Branch ". In time, the accomplishments on the territory and the desire to be an integral part of the Ticino entrepreneurial fabric, brought to the establishment of the Swiss company Cattaneo Impianti SA, in 2012.

The beginnings
The initial activities took place in two small rooms and a warehouse in the center of Chiasso: initially the team, that consisted of a salesman, an electrical engineer, a foreman and a secretary, began operating in the sectors in which it possessed strong know-how deriving from parent company Cattaneo Impianti Srl, therefore design and construction of electrical, mechanical and automation systems in the industrial sector.

Cattaneo Impianti expands its operations
After a few years of business growth, the company moved to its new headquarters in Chiasso, with an open space technical office, a secretariat, a workshop and a warehouse.

The evolution of the company’s structure
The large influx of customers, projects and opportunities expanded the company from an initial staff of four people to the current 25 people, with increasingly specialized skills in the various sectors of industry.

Expansion
Ever since its beginnings Cattaneo Impianti placed great importance in the know-how it acquired, but maintained equal openness to the evolution of technologies, thus extending its skills in all sectors of the specialist industry and integrating them with new skills.
